This week, we feature the music of contemporary Catholic recording artist and mom Alicia Hernon.  I know you're going to fall in love with her new CD BelovedMary has so many titles, but in this week’s Mary Moment, Sarah Reinhard shares a poem on a cozy everyday sort of title, Our Lady of the Broom.  Visit Ginny Moyer's Mary and Me Blog and check out her book Mary and Me: Catholic Women Reflect on the Mother of God.

Have you ever wondered about author G.K. Chesterton? Who is he? Why should I care? Find out on Chesterton Moments with Nancy Brown of Chesterton.org and the American Chesterton Society.

How would you feel if you found your priest inebriated and passed out? Today, Tom shares a Deacon Moment story in which this very thing happened. Strange? Listen as we continue to celebrate the Year of the Priest.

Remember to comment here on the blog for your chance to win an awesome Sarah Bauer tshirt!  Simply leave a comment by August 31, 2009 and you will be entered to win.  One winner will be randomly selected.

Our special guest on this week's podcast, Kate Daneluk, is the founder of a wonderful program entitled  Making Music Praying Twice.  Kate has taught music in Catholic schools and early education programs since 1994, when she graduated with high honors in Theology from St. Anslem College.  Continuing on with graduate work in education, she trained in early childhood music and movement at the Center for Music and Young Children in Princeton. A mother of four, Kate provides engaging workshops on faith-inclusive early childhood music and movement for parents, homeschoolers, teachers, and schools.

Be sure to enter this week's "Making Music Praying Twice" contest, for your chance to win the Homeschool Edition of Making Music Praying Twice.

Today's Deacon Moment contains tribute and appreciation for the work and evangelization by Father Robert Barron. Deacon Tom's Deacon Moment is about the Baptism of Our Lord and is titled, "The God of Mud and Muck."

In this week's Mary Moment, Sarah Reinhard not only includes a great Sarah Bauer song, “Mary’s Got My Back,” and also announces your chance to win a Mary’s Got My Back t-shirt.

My special guest for this week's podcast is Father Robert Barron.  This month, we are encouraging your support of Father Barron's latest project, Catholicism.  Please consider a donation of any size and join us in praying for Father Barron and his team.  Father Robert Barron is a sought-after speaker on the spiritual life-from prestigious universities to YouTube to national conferences and private retreats. The prominent theologian and podcasting priest is one of the world's great and most innovative teachers of Catholicism. His global media ministry called Word on Fire has a simple but revolutionary mission - to evangelize the culture.

In today's Deacon Moment, Deacon Tom tells of a mysterious August snowfall that outlined the grounds for this 4th century Basilica of St. Mary Major. It is dedicated to our Blessed Mother Mary and is one of five great and grand Churches of Rome.

Mary is our example in many things, including prayer.  This week, Sarah Reinhard uses a quote from Joseph Langford’s book Mother Teresa: In the Shadow of Our Lady to guide us toward using Mary as our guide and example.  Read Sarah's review of Mother Teresa: In the Shadow of Our Lady.
